Huge,
I saw you liked my post on my favorite 270 WSM recipe, so I figured I'd start the new forum off right and provide the full details on that load and another load I developed that was nearly as good.

270 WSM (powder weight above recommended load. Use with caution)
Bullet Barnes Tipped TSX 130 grain BT
Powder Magpro 72.8 grains
Primer Federal Match Lg Rifle Mag (GM 215 M)
COL 2.795
Brass Remington Peters (Winchester brass for WSMs are generally .002 inches thinner at the neck and didn't last as long for me)
Speed 3,298 fps

270 WSM
Bullet Nosler Accubond 140 BT
Powder IMR 4831 60.3 grains
Primer Federal Match Lg Rifle Mag (GM 215 M)
COL 2.820
Brass Remington Peters
Speed 3,170 fps

Enjoy!

Here's one of my better loads for the 270 WSM.

140 Gr Accubond
Fed 215 M Primer
60 Gr RL-22
COAL 2.85" (Mag length for my Tikka T3)

Usually yields cloverleafs at 100 if I can do my part. I shot a black bear with it in WY last year and the bear only went 30 yards at most after the shot.

Shot another bear with this load a few weeks back in WY - same result. Dead within 30 yards. Shot this over a chrono and got an average velocity of 2835 FPS with an extreme spread of only 40 FPS. RL-22 is an excellent powder.

I've not tried RL22, but I may give it a shot eventually. How is the temp stability of it and is it easy to clean out of the bore? I will say that is one downside of Magpro is it does take a while to get out of the bore, but the temperature stability is good. I've shot it in temperatures from 100 to 0 F and the impact was pretty much the same.

I haven't tested RL-22 out in such extreme conditions as you have with magpro, but I haven't noticed any change in impact from 25-85+ degrees. I also load it in my 7mm with a 162 Amax and the POI hasn't ever changed.

As far as cleaning goes, I haven't noticed it being any worse than other powders. To be honest, I don't clean my rifles a ton when I know I'll be shooting/ hunting quite a bit. They seem to prefer a fouled bore and I haven't lost accuracy in either rifle after 100+ rounds.

I'd say give RL-22 a try!

130gr Hornady SST/ Nosler Accubond
Fed 215 M Primer
63gr Ramshot hunter
COAL 2.8750

150gr combined tech ballistic tip
Fed 215 M primer
59.5gr IMR 7828
COAL 2.8750

both are printing below .5" MOA out of a Tikka T3. I was seating further out by notching the magazine slightly but didn't notice gains.
