Let's be honest, Utah won't. Not with the people in control of this state. I do think they better hope this doesn't get approved (or has it already?), because with the listing deadline a month away, showing mismanagement of key habitat is not the way to show the Feds you are willing to WISELY manage the land. This is exactly why the BLM needs their own sage grouse plan, because Utahs state plan is essentially worthless.

It does not matter either way, they will end up on the list. The state plans and the federal plans are essentially the same, and do nothing for grouse. In fact it is those plans that are killing them.

The BLM undertook an aggressive sage grouse management plan in 2006, that included massive habitat projects across the West. About 55% of sage grouse habitat is on federal lands. By 2013 sage grouse numbers had declined by 55%.

Like I said, there is no difference in plans, they are both detrimental to sage grouse.
