Bad luck on the opener...
Had our spot all scouted out and we were feeling pretty good. Friday night, as an omen, we had a black angus wander into camp. Sometime between our last scouting trip and Saturday morning about 200 cows had been moved into the area.
It really affected the deer, only saw one buck (4x4) at 300 yds but wasn't able to get close enough. Didn't see a single elk or doe. I also saw a very large bull moose. We were on the Cache unit.
You live and learn, still fun to be out there.
