Out Sunday morning I harvested this beauty. It did one of those lock and glide patterns
sailing a few hundred yards and finding the big phrag patch to crash land in.
From there all I can say is thank goodness for Yellowdogs :)
She located the landing zone with 3ppm of scent and found it hiding in a clump
of bullrush-phrag. Just proves..Don't run you will only die tired..

I had one pull a dissapearing stunt on me too. It was a scaup. It landed in the decoys and started swimming away. The dog got after it. Twenty yards from the cattails it dove. The dog held up and waited for it to come out. I got out of the boat so I could go help. When I got over there my lab had gotten into the cattails. I figured he was just off marking his territory. I was still walkin the edge of the brush lookin for the bird. I my dog was about thirty yards into the cattails. I called to him but he just kept going. I kept looking for the bird. All the sudden he jumps out of the cattails with the duck. I dont know if he was following its scent all the way in there or if he just found it on his way back out. But for sure it would have been lost with out the dog there.
