So I was getting my boat ready for the youth hunt and noticed. My prop that was a 9x3 had shrunk over the summer. I guess leaving it out in the sun is bad on them:). Now it was like 6x3. So it was time for a new prop. I called Travis at Mayhem and he said he had something for me. He called it a tulip. So I go and get this prop that has an odd shape to the cup and throw it on my boat. We head out to OB and do a little test.
Hooooooooly crap. My little guy boat was not made to go that fast.
Now this little 14x42 has always been kind of a dog. It loaded down heavy and is slow. But I felt like I was in some kind of drag boat. Sorry no GPS all I can say is WOW. The strange part is the little 18hp motor was biting so hard it was an animal to hang on to but 3/4 throttle was easy and I was still way faster then any other prop I have ever ran.

Has anyone else tried one of these?

I haven't tried one yet, but it sounds interesting.....I have a 14hp Backwater that will need a new prop soon and that sounds like the one to try!
