Just got back from Boulder mountain,
Had to cut the trip a day short due to heavy rain/lighting/hail storms!
Between Wednesday and thursday nights we saw 50 different bucks...
alot like this guy.

Several like this guy, and 5 bigger I failed to get good pic's of.

Saw a dozen bulls, this group of 5 had 2 impressive ones...

Hit Oak creek res 5 times.

Caught a couple dozen of these...

Swung around Hell's Backbone, cuz my yungest boy had never seen it before..

Was going to spend today and tomarrow looking the antelope over.
Weather ended that Idea so I guess we'll just have to go back again next week..:D.....

Sounds like fun! I had that tag (general) last year and there were still lots of bucks on the mountain after the season was over. (I'm sure you already knew that;-) ) You should have a great hunt.

How was the water and forage situation on the mountain?

Boulder look really good! Escalante, the Grffin top and Parker are OK but
lakes , resoirvors and water holes are lower there.......Grass not as tall.

Nice report Goof. Where is the older boy? Did you kick him out of the nest? I like the looks of that second buck, thick with eye guards is a good start. ------SS

He started a lawn mowing business 3 years ago on his own.

It has exploaded this year!.... He works 6 days a week during the summer.

But, I remind him every day--He's taking the bow hunt off!......

I know the feeling, my oldest is working full time and off to Cedar City for college this fall. I have to keep reminding her that we have a big hunt coming up. I may have to hunt down there for a few seasons to make it easier on her. ------SS

The lopers looked good. How is the herd doing? I am excited to come down and chase them in a few weeks. Were they hanging out in the quakes or in the sage brush flats?

Definitely seeing more antelope around 'forested' type areas ....

The open flats that antlelope used there in the past years are almost empty .....

Things have changed alot over the last 25 years from what I've witnessed.

Love Boulder Mountain. Bow hunted down there for 22 years in a row but I haven't been down in about 6 years. In almost wish I wouldn't have put in for a DH tag in the Central region and put in for down there.

That's been the case with antelope for several years now, all over the place. Nice report and post.
