Had a wonderful opportunity to take a kid from the neighborhood for his first Chukar hunt today. In fact it was his first time ever hunting birds of any kind with a dog. I was impressed to see him connect on 2 of his first 3 shots on the devil bird. We only saw 1 large covey and each bagged two birds out of it.

Cool pics and stunning birds!
That reminds me of where I used to kill quite a few myself.
Every once in a while I would get some that had found wild onion or something similar.
The little onion pearls were in the craw and those birds smelled and tasted fantastic.
You ever find wild onion out there?
My knees can’t take hills like that very well and now after looking at your pics I need to go take some Ibuprophen….
