Bunny Bash: Return of the Bashing

Well, the wive's gave us kitchen passes again and we decided to make the best of it and return to Bunnytopia and wreak terror on the souls that therein reside. The snow was pretty brutal knee-to-thigh deep in most places, and we couldn't get the truck (F-350 with 35" tires and an 8 inch lift) where we wanted it. But we still made do and in the 4 hours we had to hunt we managed to smack down 15 cottontails and 50-55 jacks (we started getting a little fuzzy on the count). The cottontails were literally underfoot and stayed in their snow tunnels under the sage, otherwise I'm sure we would have done better on them. Man this is a great year to kill some rabbits!

The cottontails are starting to toughen up btw, but are still very tasty. We did a nice fry and tossed in buffalo sauce. Dredge in season flour, egg wash, then seasoned flour mixed with crushed rice chex fry 350 F until golden. Toss in a 50/50 mix of Frank's Redhot and butter, and beat off your family members for what is the most delicious rabbit on the planet. You'll never go back to chicken wings.

Cooler than the other side of the pillow.

I'm hoping we're posting some goodies in the "Recipes" Forum. :)

Yeah I'll post up a few treats over there, but figured I'd include a quick and dirty buffalo bunny recipe with the hunt report;)

Are you cooking any jack rabbits?
I have some in the freezer but I didn't keep any this time.
