I believe you can use it as a license, just not the tag. It would be the same thing with the electronic licenses. Proof for hunting, but you can't use it as a virtual tag. Just a SWAG (scientific wild *** guess).

I bought an archery elk license online because it said I could print off my license. I got to where it said print license but after I printed it said that it was a receipt but it had all the same information as a license other than the part you cut out when you shoot an animal so can I use this as my license or do I have to wait for them to send me a license?

So your saying I'm not legal to shoot an elk until they send me the permit?

You need a hard copy. You can go to Walmart or any other location that sells licenses and they can look up your license. It will cost you $10 but they can print you a copy. The DWR will send you the tag in the mail but if you need it for the opener you will need to pay for a copy. You can also pick them up at the DWR but they will also charge you the $10.

that why I buy mine tag right from the dwr or sportsman or walmart. unless i have plenty of time to do it online.
