Hey everyone,
I just read in the paper today about the 150(ish) permits that they are doing up city creek this year. Is it really worth it upthere? I love for the week long camping hunt but there is not even overnighters allowed there. Would it be wise to put in for it?
Thanks in advance,
RObert

there big deer up there. you have to hike four miles from tha last parking lot befor you can hunt. You can stay up there but you have to have soembody drop you off an dthen come back and pick you up. there a crop load of people up there and the hunting is hard i have heard. my buddy got a realy nice four point last year up there and he is going abck up there a gain this year. good luck. i have not hunted up there yet.

Not for Faint of Heart

My friend took a buck that missed B&C by only a few points up there last year, and bigger deer that that were seen during scouting/hunting. Typical of places that very big bucks in densely populated areas live, to say the country is "rugged" does not quite describe it. Basically all the hunting takes place in terrain so steep that only the edge of your boot gets purchase on the slope. 4 miles of tough hiking to the hunting area is a minimum, and count on shots being long, often cross-canyon affairs. Deer taken frequently require a LOT of effort to pack out, this is not an area you would want to shoot some 3 year old buck in simply due to the effort required to pack him out. All that being said, yes it's a place where you have the potential to take a book buck within a 20 minute drive of town. It's not easy, which is why bucks of that caliber survive there.

It's a zoo! We have propperty that borders it and there are 5 people for every ridge. Yes there are good deer, I've even seen them, but you'd better be ready to walk for miles uphill and hope there isn't someone that had the same idea when you get there.

Google something like-hunt city creek watershed- or something like that. I have found it before. I know the guy at the treatment facility, it makes getting deer out easy!
