my wife just called me from work. She works at a car wash in taylorsville. She found 3 or maybe 4 dead deer in her car wash this morning. One had its antlers cut off. The rest still had antlers attached. She is not a hunter non likes dead animals at all. From what she can tell there is a bag full of guts lying there also. One of the deer has been gutted. There is blood all over everything. She called 911 and they have the DWR coming to check it out. Now again I have not seen what it looks like but it has got her very upset. I can not tell you all of the details as she will not look at the mess close. She was very border line from being an anti hunter. It is going to take a long time and a lot of effort to be able to explain that this was not hunters doing this. I can not for the life of me figure out why someone would do this.

Please tell her there is another name for that - Poacher, Criminal, Psychopath, it is not something that is exclusive to hunter by any means- not even close. There is also a special place for them with concrete walls and bars on the windows - not where hunters like to be - open spaces where they can enjoy and respect the world, themselves, and the game they intend to pursue.

I know you will- good luck with that, it isn't fair that you get to deal with their issue.

Road Hunters?????!!!!!!!! They mess up everything. Actually, what a crappy position you are in with your wife having to justify a very moral activity you love tainted with the crap these criminals have perpetrated. What a weird thing to do.

Sounds like a few weekend warriors popped a few deer, had a great idea to clean them up at the car wash then take em home and chop em up, but while at the car wash remembered they did not even like the taste of deer anyway so lets take our tags and jump ship!!! That is what I come up with. Even the poachers are dumb enough to transport deer without a tag. Guess what idiots poaching is what you just did!!!!! Same **** thing!

They are not hunters by any stretch of the imagination. I hope that this will not ruin your wifes perception of an ethical hunter.

I hate to see deer wasted like this, There are plenty of people that would take them off there hands if they didn't want to eat them.

Wow... thats just disgusting. Hope they find out who dumped the carcasses.... not cool, not cool at all. Thats a bummer that your wife had to see that.... I'm sure thats imprinted her with a great "stereotype" of hunters now. Hope you can convince her we're not all that sick. :?

Here is the update. The DWR has not gotten there yet. She has had 2 deer hunters show up and talk to her about how who ever did this are not hunters. They made her feel a lot better. They both offered to move the deer, but she told them no until the DWR gets there. She talked to the 7-11 guys next door to her car wash. They said they saw 2 guys in a green truck drop one of the deer in the wash bay and take off.

Any security cameras on your business or any surrounding businesses? Might be the only way to catch these dirtbags!
Yes but 7-11's camars where blocked from the view of the bays. Her camera's might have something on them. She can not look at them.

Sounds like a bunch of white/brown trash west side crap is going on. Who in their right mind would drop off dead deer at a car wash, it is one thing to shoot the animal illegally but to have the balls to transport the bodies and dump in a car wash. Maybe it is just some high school kids who have nothing to do now that football is over. Let's hope your wifes cameras were able to catch something that the dwr can use. I feel for you man, if my wife was to see something like this or if she even hears about it, I think you will start seeing all of my gear for sale.

Man, that ain't cool!

I hope the media don't get a hold of this, if they do we're all going to end up with another black eye.

I wish that some real hunters had caught them doing this. We'll have to keep trying to police our own.

I missed an opportunity last weekend to do some policing, within sight of our camp this idiot kid rides his 3-wheeler cross country down off this point above our camp, there was no reason for him to be on that point with his 3-wheeler or to ride it down through the brush. He was just being stupid. I went out to the road to have a chat with him but he took off.

Ok here is the outcome. The UHP showed up to clean up the mess. I guess the DWR only does it twice a week and the rest of the time it is up to the UHP. They told her that the one deer was being reported as poached. The other 2 deer where just guts and bones and hide. The head where left there as they where all little two points. They are writing those up as wasting wildlife and improper disposal of an animal. The DWR will be getting the deer and will have a CO come out and talk to the my wife tomorrow. None of the cameras where able to see anything that can help. My wife is more understanding now that this was not hunters doing this. She told me that a forum member from here (would not give her his name) stopped by and tried to make her feel more at ease. Good on who ever that was. The UHP also told her the same thing that she cant blame hunters for this.

I'm sorry for you to have to explain things to your wife, but it should be pretty easy to convince her that these a-holes are not hunters. Too bad the 7-11 guy didn't turn them in at the time he/she saw them deposit the first deer.
When they catch them, I sure hope they toss the book at them. They are truely poachers in every sence of the word and deserve to lose trucks, guns, camp gear and hunting privileges for the rest of their lives! Period!

Ok I just got a call from the wife. She just got back to work from taking her lunch and guess what was next to the garbage dumpster. Yep another deer. This one the meat had been cut off and it was just the remains and blood and scraps. She called the cops again. They told her that the DWR will clean it tomorrow when they come talk to her about the other deer. Are hunters getting that lazy or what. I can tell you she is pretty upset right now. She is thinking about calling a news station and having them come out and see what "hunters" are doing.
