Kind of a blustery day for fishing wasn't it? I think sometimes those are the best day's for a lot of things if it involves 'not' working.!!!

Yea i got lucky at deer creek fishing on the shore the other year caught a 17 in rainbow on power bait then realing in to go caught a 22in trout in the weeds on shore. IT sucks to get skunked but again better then anything else.

I noticed that Deer Creek has gone into fall mode as of last week. It was harder to find the fish from just the shore, and even the little fish had moved deeper. That was the case for the bass, but I am not sure what species you were targeting.

I float-tubed Deer Creek last night for ninety minutes in the choppy conditions. It feels like it has gone into fall mode to me, too. I tubed along the west side by the RR tracks, and picked up ten smallies (7-10") on white and gray wooly buggers. I was using a type 3 sinking line and taking them deeper than previously. I thought perhaps I might pick up a trout or two, but maybe the water hasn't cooled off enough to bring them in closer to the shore(?).

A 15 inch smallie out of Deer Creek is a big fish. I've not seen them much bigger in that lake. For some reason, walleye are hard or me to catch; never caught one at DC, but I know they can get big there. I think I am a curse to the Blue Fox spinners. I hear they work great, but I can't even get a bite with them.

Were you able to get out and fish a little on Friday before the storm rolled in?

Sadly no, I didn't get off work until 5:00, it would have been 8 by the time I would have been able to get there. Then today was a no as well...I am most likely gonna try and either hit up the 'nelle or DC next weekend though! My fishing fever is getting bad! :lol:
