We hit Deer Creek on Monday, 31st. It was a sunny, warm day with no wind. Fishing was slow and the ice was on the thin side. There was a slush ring around the shore which was about 5 feet wide and up to 2 feet deep. Made it kind of miserable getting on the ice. The ice started out 4 or so inches and we felt comfortable. We drilled holes in 3 places, the last had only 3 inch ice (I like it 6 or more). We fished for 3 hours, caught 5 bows and had 3 other hits. 3 bows were 13-14 inches, one was 17" and one was 19", kept a couple for dinner. Not a great day, but better than the alternative.
