I read somewhere that their real struggle comes when they start to switch from brown to green food sources.

If that's the case, we haven't seen the full mortality of this winter yet.

I've heard the same thing. I have read that April is a crucial month for deer mortality.

I just read that the wildlife board will approve final permit numbers on May 4th. Numbers will be available on utah hunt planner.

There’s already guys complaining about not drawing a tag AND complaining about winter kill in the same paragraph. It’s pretty incredible.

Every year you hear guys bitching that the DWR is decimating the herd by giving out too many tags and then a bunch of bitching about how the DWR is ruining the family tradition of deer hunting because they can't draw a tag. They think they need to have it all and have it all the time. Maybe if they weren't so busy bitching they could find hunting opportunity outside of deer in Utah.

I’m going to be really ticked if I don’t get a deer tag this year.

And I’ll blast a 2 point just for B&D!

I'm not sure what they have to do with anything, but they put out some bangers back in the day.

I don’t care what you shoot. Just don’t complain about the lack of 200” deer standing behind every tree right off the road.

Probably on one of my old phones.
We had an unbelievable run for about 5 years.
The last 8 or 9 years, not so much.

Yep, we also had a great run of about 5 years. Between 09-14 I would say. It has gone progressively downhill since and last year was really sad. But right when the deer hunting started to wane the elk hunting started to get really good. Last year the deer hunting was terrible and the elk hunting was merely fair. Is that pretty close to your experience?
