If you draw a limited entry unit and are unsuccessful, can you still hunt extended archery? I assume no.
You assumed right until this year. New regs now allow limited entry deer or elk tag holders to hunt the extended seasons.

From the guidebook:

"More opportunity for archers
This year, for the first time, limited-entry
archery deer hunters who don’t harvest during
the limited-entry season will be allowed to
hunt the extended archery areas after completing
the online extended archery course.
For details, please see page 23 or visit

The online archery ethics course is a complete joke! It is completely insulting! If they really think an online course can make a difference, I wish they would make it actually teach something.
I think it's intended to be a gentle reminder at the beginning of every extended season not to be a clown when hunting close the high population areas of the Wasatch front. It's not intended to be overly educational or challenging.
