So let's say I get lucky enough to shoot a spike during the elk hunt. I will be quarreling and packing the animal out. If I take it to a processor what do I need to take? I will leave proof of sex when quartering, but do I leave that for the processor as well? Does the processor need to see the antlers and tag? Will they take my quarters just in game bags?

Thanks in advance for thoughts. I usually process my own deer, but if I get an elk I think I'll go to a processor.

Tag goes with the largest piece of meat and your processor will take it, and return it to you with the fully processed meat.

Perfect!! I would take it out of the game bags as they can be a mess if the elk hangs for any amount of time especially if its a bit dirty.
