I have a cow elk tag in the central montains west manti unit and was wondering what is a good motel/hotel to stay at. I will be there next weekend. Also is there any snow there yet? Thanks in advance for the info.

If you want a good motel you'll want to stay in Nephi. There's some snow right now, but a lot of the lower elevation stuff has melted.

Not much snow, but the weather is calling for lots of snow storms starting Wed/Thur all the way into the next week. It might be ugly. But you know, a weather man is the best job around, you can be wrong 50% of the time and still keep your job:)

Nephi will have the better Hotels, but there are some right there in Manti or Ephriam that are alot closer and with weather, you wont want to travel that canyon much either.

Please define "good". My definition of good is a somewhat clean bed, the room doesn't stink too badly and it has running hot and cold water. The wife has a different definition of "good". Something about some kind of star rating and nothing less than 4 stars is even mentionable.

I've had that tag many times. If I can't crash with friends, I stay at the Temple View motel in Manti because it's clean, warm and cheap. If you want something more swanky, Willow Creek Inn in Ephraim is a good choice.

Very little snow right now - only 6-8 inches up on top.

Ah, the Temple View. I believe that was were my family stayed about 3 years ago for a wedding. From what I can recall Finnegans description is accurate: Clean, warm, and cheap.

I know the Bulls having been crossing 89 almost hit one. It also a joke the sportsman where going to fence this high way with designated under crossing for the animals and it was shot down buy the highway dept.

Thanks for all the information everyone. I will see what happens this weekend never been in that area before so I will probably spend most of it just getting to know the area a bit.
