Everyone should go listen to Randy Newbergs podcast episode 7... He rips BGF and SFW a new one, it's about time someone with a platform did. Kudos Randy

I had respect for Randy before this but he and Ed hit a lot of topics spot on and cleared up a lot of misinformation.
He is one of the best voices out there for hunting and he seems like a reasonable no BS kind of guy that backs up his argument with facts and first hand experience.

I love that guy. His is one of the few hunting shows I've that I can stand to watch. I watch his, MeatEater, and Western Hunter. If I'm being honest I've lost some respect for the Western Hunter guys of late.

there is a reason that the SFW ran like chikens when Randy challenged the organization to a debate. Randy would chew them up and spit them out. Then they wanted to take him on a tour of the wildlife and habit projects. Randy said he would go on the condition that he get to review the SFW financial statement. They shut up again.

SFW stands for taking away opportunity in the name of hunting for profit. There is absolutely no argument against that. Those articles are 3 years old, and the organization was working in that direction long before then.

When Don Peay calls the current model "socialism", it almost makes me want to become a socialist.

Question of the day: Why would Big Game Forever take positions with the grey wolf that would almost certainly result in the re-listing of the grey wolf when their charge has been to lobby in a way for de-listing?

Follow the money. How much has Utah paid them on that issue the last 3 years alone? You think they want that income to dry up?

So they give them what, another $500K this year for this delisting?

What is this money spent on? Bribery and lobbying? That money is doing nothing.

There are very few wolves that make their way into Utah. Even once they decide to live here, they will do what wolves want to do. No sense spending millions on them right now. The new Sierra RV park took out farmland, legacy highway took out land... etc. Farms and ranches are ruined for corporate gain everyday. Not saying an opinion on that, just think the "protect the ranchers" claim is BS and not at all their motive.

From the last money release:

Spanish Fork Republican Rep. Mike McKell rose to defend giving activists $500,000 to pressure federal officials to return wolf management to the states.

McKell's proposed line item had not been discussed publicly during the normal state budgeting process, even though it has been the source of past controversy.

"This is a big deal, a big deal for ranchers. It's a big deal for wildlife in this state," McKell proclaimed on the House floor after another lawmaker suggested spending the money on air quality research instead.

"I'm not ashamed of this," he added. "I don't want the wolf in Utah. We can't afford to have the wolf in Utah."

First part to laugh at is that he listed zero facts in his reasoning. HE doesn't want the wolf in Utah, so its a good idea to spend millions. Also, we can't afford to have the wolf in Utah, but we can burn millions of dollars "fighting" legislature.

A year later, the Utah Department of Natural Resources awarded Benson a $2 million contract to thwart an endangered species listing for greater sage grouse. A former patent lawyer and an avid big game hunter, Benson had minimal prior experience with the bird species.

This Big Game Forever guy is on to something. Making $$$$, but so far hasn't succeeded at anything.

Anyone want to join my new group, Sportsman for Corporate and Legislative Agendas? I could use a new car, and some extra cash.
