Evil Lunch Spot

Went to a new creek today....spooked some fish and realized that it was time to get sneeky. Sitting low I started to throw and actually hooked into some fish. Got 11 Cutthroat Trout and lost 6. Hole after hole produced, which made this creek my new lunch spot (inspired by you LOAH). Some holes had well over 20 cutts just lying in wait!

Millcreek River

Had to pick up one of my family members who wanted to climb the mountains around Millcreek Canyon. Being early and having my fishing tackle already in the car I figured, "why not". Found some holes that were about the size of a living room carpet. Threw my spinners in there and got 3 Brown Trout total. The largest was 14inches and FAT. Not bad for only spending 10 minutes there.

All fish were caught and released today on the following :

Silver Blue Fox Spinner size 1
Count Down Rainbow Rapala size CD1
Silver Blade, Black/Grey Body, Roostertail Spinner size 1/8

Nice little stream. Not much is quite as therapeutic as catching fish on break. It can change your whole day around.
No doubt LOAH. There were around 20 cutts stacked up in one hole, and I got 11 in hand, and 6 lost on the retrieve in about 30 minutes. Amazing how many people pass that place right up all the time. In fact a few people looked at me like I was crazy when I came out of my car with a fishing pole. I am now sworn to secrecy for life about that spot.

Sweet.

I just saw a new species in my lunch creek. At first, I thought they were LMB (2 fish, side by side), because they had a black stripe down their sides, but they were more trout-shaped and I could only see one dorsal fin. Must be Junies!

Once I figured out what they were, I stopped casting to them. Should've gotten some underwater video, but I was in a bad spot and would've fallen in if I tried.

That would be kind of neat to accidentally hook one while trying for my browns though. It would make a good photo, at least. I'll leave them alone if I see them.

You better leave DWR's precious darling Junnies alone  . Afterall they are gonna re route the provo river just for those suckers. Hard to believe the DWR has an absolute love affair with those things. I have been in a situation where I wanted to take a pic, but feared falling in...considering my $1,200 camera is not water proof, I tend to wait for the next oppertunity.

Enjoy you lunch break spot today and tommorrow LOAH...this evening I am taking TDT to show him the goods I found yesterday.
