Went out for the afternoon yesterday. Got set up about 2:30 after a minor mishap. The canal I have crossed many times before was dredged over the summer and is now at chest wader height. Soaked all my gear but stayed mostly dry until the exit crossing. Anyway, shooting was slow. Between 2 of us downed 4 of 6 that gave us a look. Brought home 2 gadwalls and a cinnamon. The GWT splashed into the weed line and disappeared in the phrag.
Mosquitos were bad the last hour. Not nearly as horrible as last year tho. Flooded waders on the walk out and got rained on. The ducks look dryer and less beat up than I did when I made it home... Good luck to all this stormy weekend. Be safe.
