How successful have ya'll been in filling tags this year? I must confess, that the only buck/bull tag I got was for Northern Black Powder. But I did draw two doe pronghorn tags for Wyo., a two doe deer tag for Chalk Creek, a doe pronghorn for Parker Mt., and a cow elk tag for Ogden-South Cache. So far I'm four for five. I didn't get a chance/shot during the black powder. Saw lots of critters, but couldn't get a shot. They guy I was with did get a shot, but missed a three point.

My son had a tag for Wyo. as well, and a doe Pronghorn for Box Elder. Both of those filled as well. We got the three Wyo. goats on the same day, and were on our way home before noon. He got his B.E. goat after much searching over by Howell Valley, one shot at 300 yards. I shot like crap with my .243 and couldn't hit anything in Chalk Creek, :? but did manage one with my .270. Went up the next weekend on my way back from SLC, left the .243 home and only took the .270, and got the second, first shot. :D Thanks to the folks up Chalk Creek/Coalville way that let me hunt their property. -/O\- -/O\- *()* *()*

My son and I are 8 for 8 up there, though we haven't drawn every year, one of us has 4 of 5 years and we've always filled. Sorry, no pics. I keep forgetting to take pics, as they are for meat only, and not for trophy/show. All have been great eating so far. We even made burger out of the goats from Wyo., as we shot them just off of hay and grain fields. Tried it Sunday for spaghetti, and it was nearly like beef it is so mild flavored.

So, fess up! How have the rest of you done so far? Inquiring minds want to know! :!:

My brother and I drew archery antelope tags. He took his opening day and I took mine two weeks later. Both are great bucks. Being a dedicated hunter I decided to take advantage of the the 3 hunting seasons. In the past, I am usually guiding someone at this time, but not this years. So it was game on for me.

Muzzleloader hunt came along, and all I saw was alot of smaller bucks. I did see alot of people in that area so I decided to try a new area. Rifle hunt came along and I got snowed out right at shooting hours. Well, after alot of searching on goole earth and some scouting, I decided to head out to a new area.

I went out on Tuesday and yesterday, and lets just say I had my chances at a 30" three point and a couple of bucks in the 24-26 in range. O*-- I am pretty pissed at myself right now. One of the shots was a pretty easy shot. I did fall off the four wheeler last Saturday, so I am blaming my stupidness on my scope.

I am headed back up on Saturday with a gun that FOR sure is sighted in, and I am going to be taking no prisoners. _O\

A good firend of mine and I decided to get spike tags this year and see what happened. We had done a little bit of scouting and I thought we had a really good chance of filling our tags. Long story short... opening day we got into a huge herd of elk with a dozen spikes to choose from. It really was a lot of luck, but it worked out great. I got my second elk and my buddy got his first. I was really cool to be there when he connected for the first time.

This is by buddy's boy with his elk:

And this is mine....

Two bought, two filled!

I finally just took this guy this morning.
Not what I really wanted but Mama wanted backstraps. :D
Jumped him out his bed that he was in down in some thick stuff.
Dropped him with one shot at about 75 yards.
I quartered him out and hauled him about 4 miles out of a roadless canyon.
