This is my first season hunting here in Utah. I am trying to find public hunting lands here. I am in Cedar City. Looking for an area that is Elk cow or any bull for archery. Is there a website that shows public vs. private lands with references such as roads or some other means.

Thanks in advance.

If you have a GPS, get the Utah hunt map chip. It'll give you all the info on what is public and what is not. It'll also give you the landowner contact info. If not, get a good topo map that shows what is private and what is not. You can usually see forest service land from google maps as well. Find the area you want to go, and use google earth to see what roads are and whatnot. Good luck!

Go down to the BLM office and purchase a map of the area that you want to hunt. Take a look at the map, the white areas are private. Or if you are planning on hunting national forest then go to the Forest Service office and get one of their maps, but the BLM maps will also have national forest on them.
