Long time archery/Deer hunter, First time Elk/rifle hunter. I just drew my first elk tag and better yet its my first rifle tag as well. I drew the antlerless Elk Central Mtns, North Manti riffle tag, Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated. Would I have better luck doing a spot and stock, or should I setup in a blind/stand? Depending on the weather/temp, should I look high or low? I'm going in to this a little blind guys any comments would be great.

There are a lot of elk on the unit, Pick a canyon and go. This hunt has a very high success rate. Don't be afraid to stay out all day especially opening day the elk get pushed around a bit.

Oh, and bring a fishing rod as well on your scouting trips because the water is plentiful on that unit.

Yep...lots of elk on that unit. Skyline Drive is a good access road although the later it gets, the more limitations you will have due to snow. Pick a good vantage point, find the elk, and get after them.
