...way West Actually if you have a good long day to kill and plenty of gas, it is a great drive to go all the way through the Pony Express trail. But must admit, Fish springs is a most unlikely place for a waterfowl refuge.

 

I can take u out on someday. We could put the hammer down on some coots

 

It's a long trip but well worth it if you have the time, it's a cool trip even if you don't score on the ducks. You can always stop and hunt rabbits along the way too. Hopefully you have a 4 wheel drive, the road isn't really maintained and it can get pretty nasty during the winter. Once my father in law had a jet buzz by about 10 feet over the truck when he was crossing the Dugway proving ground, it scared the s%&t out of him but was pretty cool!

 

Everything was locked up when I was out there. Just had to be prepared to pass on the ducks and set out for dogs and rabbits. It's pretty cool out there if you've got the time. Fun place to check out when there's water.

 

heck i would like to go out there as well sometime if someone that knows the area and has been there a few times i could drive out there as well and i could even pay for the fuel for someone that knows the area

I wouldn't plan on any trips soon, hunting is very very slow. Plus, I know that place like the back of my hand.

It's thawing out right now and the birds are just not there yet.

If you go it is wise to take two spare tires. There is some sharp shell on the roads and I have had buddies end up using both spare tires to get home! Luckily I Have not had that miss fortune!
