I shoot a 20 ga almost exclusively. Here is my load for EVERYTHING.

TEX-O-BOB'S C0CK-MEDS

Federal or Estate flat base 2 3/4 inch hull.
209M primer
22 grains of Hodgdon HS-6 powder
Remington SP20 wad
1 1/8 oz of shot. 6's for turkeys, roosters, chukars, huns, and grouse. 8's for quail and doves.

The reason I shoot this load for everything is cuz I've shot it so long now I know exaclty where it's going and what the lead is on every bird I may encounter. One of the biggest mistakes I see guys making is changing up the load they shoot on differnt hunts and birds. It makes it very hard to learn and establish the right lead on any given target. Find a load that works well for all the birds you're likely to find and stick with it! :wink:

Consistency=dead birds!

Im with TEX on this one I shot the same basic load as he uses for years with verry good sucess. I have started trying a very fast load for my 20GA (1 1/8 oz of #6 @ 1400fps) and am having good sucess so far, it paterns well and seems to do the trick. the reason for switching is I started shooting a fast load in a 12GA and want to keep everything the same for all the reasons TEX gave. It makes it easier to keep consistent.
