I was looking through some old pictures this morning and stumbled across this picture I took during a pheasant hunt back in 2008. It always gives me a smile. This was a long time ago, but that particular hunt sticks out in my head and feels like just a couple years ago. Time flies! Make the most of it.

I love the power lines in the background.
Really miss the years our ole’ Roosters were everywhere.
I loved hunting my buddies place back in the day, he lived along a graveled farm road and his mailbox was tucked along a little hill that his farm equipment couldn’t get within about 5-6’ from and always had grasses grown up a couple feet along the mailbox.
I loved being ready as we got to that mailbox and everybody else was worn out and had their guns over their shoulder.
I killed a number of birds from that little mailbox island.
Always wondered if the letter carrier ever pooped themselves when a bird would blow out right under their had as they opened/closed the mailbox door.
