Horn mountain cow elk

Anyone have any experience on this cow hunt? My kids drew the tag this year. Late season with relatively few tags issued. I hunt the area above this unit but have never been south of Joe's. Where I usually hunt might have a foot or 2 of snow.

The elk winter on Horn and if there is much snow up high they should be there. Get up by the Cap, the tallest point, on the east to south east is where the elk will hang out. Best to use atvs if there snow, the roads will drift over pretty easy.
