I don't know why, but I want to have what some say is, one of the best production rifles ever made. I don't know much about them but of course it has to be a Pre Garcia (pre 1972)
in 30-06, 270, 25-06. maybe a 243 too :)

I think I should own one of these from the past.
Who has one? Talk to me.

Any Sako fans?

Love my Sako. It is an early 1990s rifle and I couldn't be happier. Not sure if the pre-Garcia are better, but I can't imagine they are. And mine is even a 280. Problem is there is no reason to buy another rifle. I guess that saves me money in the long run.

I want a Sako 85 with a Mannlicher stock; 6.5 x 55 or .260.

Sako makes a great rifle - my stepdad owns a Sako 85 Finnlight in 308 and that thing flat out shoots and has one of the nicest actions around.

I shot my very first deer with a Sako .243 Forrester???, I believe it was a Finnlight Forrester. My grandpa bought it brand new in late 60's. It's stock is dinged up and the old peep sights have been swapped out to a Wal Mart Simmons 8 pt scope and it still does the job. I am waiting to inherit it and then I plan on putting some good glass on it and using it every year. The craftsmanship is amazing.
