I fished by the dam into the early afternoon. Best catch was a 18" Cuttthroat. Six inches of ice. Six inches of slush. 18 inches of snow. I was getting bites about three feet off the floor in 18' of water. Road to the Scofield wasn't plowed on the way out. They plowed once while I was there, but there was another eight inches on the road by the time I drove home. Let it snow!

The trout catch is tiding me over, but I'm ready for some panfish action through the ice. Maybe Pelican next week.

There were two other groups out there. They were each caching too. Most reasonable people should have stayed home yesterdat. The roads were awful (l was fine in my Outback) and there was heavy, wet snow falling all day. I saw a few ice fishers on other parts of the lake but not many.

I've never been out to Pelican. I mean to every ice fishing season, but I get turned off by the long drive from the Wasatch Front. If there's good ice next Friday, I'm going to Pelican.
