I didn’t know what forum was best for this, but food is “gear,” right?

I’m curious what people’s favorite food, snacks, and/or supplements you take with you in the field in your packs on your hunts.

I never go hunting, or fishing for that matter, without at least a couple uncrustable sandwiches. Absolutely my favorite snack for my pack. I will die on this hill.

I also love Wallaby's licorice, Take 5 snack size bars, and maybe jerky. All the above work to get some quick calories and fill the belly a bit once hungry.

I have really taken to having a Mountain House/Peak meal available as well for lunch or post kill calories. I usually will have them at the truck in case I come back mid-day, but sometimes have a stove and one in the pack during the day. Packing a folded up tortilla is also another thing I like to do for dipping, but also quick calories.

In my older age I’ve become a little more prone to cramping on long or strenuous hikes if I don’t specially work to remedy that. I always have Liquid IV and either salted watermelon or margarita flavored Cliff Energy chews easily accessible.

I have never really gotten into the Bucked Up, Mtn OPs, Warrior Fuel type stuff. But one thing I am interested in is bone broth. Do any of you have a favorite that you’ve felt has been beneficial to you?

I’d love to hear what people are loving as snacks and/or meals for the pack while out on the hunt.

Overall:
MetRx 100 Bars
Chia Seeds in tiny bags, b/c 1 tbsp disappears in a lot of things to drink
Mixed nuts
Beef Jerky of some kind (Really crushing on 1st Phorms new sticks)
Some sort of caffeine stick mix for lunch (right now I have bucked-ups soda series)
Bulk flavored baked chickpeas from Winco or somewhere
Wasabi Peas (I'll fight anyone on this one! Gotta love clearing your sinuses at 10k ft!)
Clear protein in a tiny bag, good for a drink at lunch (just bough Mtn Ops new kind and it tastes great!)

Base Camping: (Just things I feel don't backpack well)
Apples
Pre-packed Protein Shakes
Summer Sausage
Bananas
Poppis and Olipops! I am addicted to these.
