So I haven't ever hunted ducks before this season and it's been a blast so far. I hunt farmington bay and since thanksgiving I haven't seen hardly any ducks. I've had people tell me that it is all over because of the big freeze, is that true? Also I would really like to get a crack at a few geese and if anybody has anything they would be willing to tell me about goose hunting that would be sweet.

There are still ducks to be had, just not in the conventional way.

Geese take a lot of work, scouting, and luck. The urban zone should be starting to pick up here pretty soon. Then it is a matter of putting your work in to find them, and get permissions, having the right gear, and being at the right place at the right time. Not too many people are able to get on geese like they are able to get on ducks, it is a very competitive thing. Most good fields are either off limits, leased, or taken. Good luck!
