Puddles and I left Salt Lake Thurs. morning about 09:00, finally hit Roosevelt around 11:30. Thursday fished from about noon thirty to I think 8 in the dark! Iced about 100 gill that day using about any jig we had in our boxes(even without bait). Puddles had his first large mouth hooked (musta been a bigun) it broke him off right at the ice! The bite realy started to die down after the sun went down, still caught a few on jiggin raps and northland airplane jigs. Decided to call it a night, it was about 5 below and out of green propane bottles. We managed to get everything out of the tent in record time, slid it over about a foot to start folding it up and found out that my foot fits nicely down a ten inch auger hole! Still had the tent to fold up, the sleds to load and about a half mile jaunt back to the truck -)O(- Also learned walking is hard in frozen pants. Stayed at the Holiday Inn (i think) about the only hotel in Roosevelt, the one with the jb's in the parking lot. It was not up to Puddles' satisfaction to say the least, still nice not to have to make the drive back to Salt Lake that night, and it allowed us to fish the next day early. Friday was awesome, we met two really cool guys, one from Heber and one from California(his first time on the ice)in the parking lot that morning. Ended up fishing with them all day, it was a riot. Learned a lot from the Heber fella especially about Jordanelle perch. We fished from 09:00 until 13:00 caught what felt like a bazillion bluegills(around 200) and a dozen large mouth(all caught by Puddles) I couldn't catch a bass to save my a$$! Caught the bass on chartruse paddle jigs not tipped with anything, and the gills with about anything we put down the hole. Brought 15 gills to the fire station and had an afternoon fry today! Can't wait to get back....

Nice job on the gills. I am certainly going to have to try the ice on Pelican this winter. Maybe my fall magic can land me some LMB's through the ice.

.45 I don't recall, don't think I have had the pleasure of meeting you. Didn't fish Jordanelle much this year  would love to though, it's not that far from Salt Lake, and after fishing with the guys Puddles and I met at Pelican I hear talk of monster perch :)

Hey Poo-Pie I'm still urset I didn't get to go with you. Looks like you did well and it was a good thing you had Puddles with you to show you what bass look like. I'm taking Zach there the day after Christmas. See if you or anyone else wants to go.
