I see that HB469 was signed by Cox yesterday. A last minute amendment allows year-round, quota-free cougar hunting, inserted on day 43 of the session without discussion. Nicely played by our super majority legislators. Who needs scienctific wildlife management, anyway?

But it also bans trail cameras from July 31-Dec 31, which I agree with and was way past due.

We need to kill more predators so that we can grow more deer to kill because hunting is conservation, or so I'm told.

I doubt that many cats will get killed by anybody without running hounds and the number of houndsmen will always be limited.

Seems to me that DWR was buying property years ago, but then the legislature put a stop to it?

But what really twists my nipples is my legislative representative who's been too obsessed with trans kids and evil school teachers to pay attention to much of anything else.
