I watched a guy in his 20's a couple years ago whacking Geese with a compound along the Jordan River. He was out in the same area for a couple weeks slamming them while I was running racoon traps. He wasn't a Tim Wells shooting them out of the air, but ground pounding them. I talked to him a couple times, and he said it was cheaper driving a couple miles to shoot geese, than driving an hour and setting up in hopes of bagging some with the scatter gun.

i will ground pound them with an arrow. I would use my compound bow, but I can’t see good with my right eye and I can’t shoot a bow left handed. I need a crossbow so I can shoot left handed.

See, I could get into hunting waterfowl like that. I often romanticize goose hunting a field from a blind but the gear requirements have made that just a dream unless I want to pay an outfitter.
All of it. Hiking is terrible without a gun or rod in my hands.

A word of caution. Use Lumenoks or something because those crossbows have some power behind them and go through birds like a hot knife through butter. You could lose a lot of bolts.
Extremely true!
Opening day of 2014, ten minutes in to the hunt I used my crossbow to kill a Honker.
Been looking for that bolt for 8/10’s of a decade.
Of your still looking I have a nice Barnett crossbow I might part with
