Ah, I was hoping for a snagging season like in Colorado.

I understand protecting them at staging areas and rivers... but out in the lake you still have 1 to 3 year old kokes that are NOT spawning, that are still fishable. I don't understand why you should be forced to throw back a bright silver 3 year old fish that wont spawn until the following year.

Regs should be: Bay/River/ect XXYYZZ is closed to Kokanee fishing. Any other kokanee caught in open water with red coloration must be release immediately.

That does make more sense and have thought this before at the gorge.
