My wife and both received a coupon from the DWR for 50.00 ea. towards non lead ammo for our deer hunt in the Zion. I have checked with DoubleTap ammo out of Cedar City. "SOLD OUT" HAHAHA. Now i'm on a waiting list for ammo. Ironic part is....
"Obtain a coupon for free non-lead ammunition (up to $50 value)."
After doing some research the price was 56ish not so free. I guess the wait for 2 boxes of ammo for 13 or so bucks isn't so bad. This is a project that is related to the condors is southern Utah. 2 options (1)check in and prove the non lead ammo was used. (2) use regular ammo and remove entire animal including guts if I am reading correctly and still check in. Here is the link if anyone is interested...

Did Mike give you any time frame of getting them? They have great ammo for great prices, meaning great big prices. But Mike is a great guy.

I doubt that they check that much, and I don't believe that it is a actual regulation yet to use lead free bullets in certain units.

Now if you were in Comifornia then you could be in trouble if you have a lead rifle round while hunting.

As for the cost, they started giving out that certificate 10 or more years ago and it hasn't kept up with inflation. Sad thing is that for a reloader it is only good for loaded ammo.

Id call Barnes and ask. Its local why wouldn't the state support a local lead free bullet company?? Oh wait.... its utah.
Because when the program went into effect Barnes was not selling to the public, so they were left out of the valid retail shops. Even now I don't believe that they have a online shop even if they may be selling retail out of their business in Mona.
