How many opening mornings of the rifle deer hunts have you guys made in a row? I have been afield on the start of the rifle deer hunt every year since my Dad first took me when I was 8, that was 30 years ago  . I haven't hunted every year of those 30 years, I didn't start carrying a gun untill I was 16, and some years I have not had a tag, but I have at least been out in the mountains helping friends or family on there hunts. This year I killed a deer on the bow hunt and nobody in my family got a rifle tag so I find myself not having anybody to go with. I think I will just go up above the house and sit on a hill out of the way with my binocs and spotting scope and just watch what is going on. Got to keep the streak alive :) .

I have made it 16 years in a row NOT being in the mountains while crazy city folk are running around with high-powered rifles. I fully intend to keep this streak going 20+ more years!

I am like you Mark. I have already taken a deer this year. Also in past years prior to the rifle season but, I have made every rifle opener since I was about 10 years old. It is a little crazy in some areas but I can't stay away. I love the the opening morning with family and freinds.

I still look at rifle opener as some kind of holiday or something. I can't help it it's been that way since I was little.
Even when I hunt muzzy I still end up on the mountain with friends or family.
There is only one year I sat home and I was going nuts.
I'm not scared of city folk with high power rifles

The "Patriarch" I go hunting with, 81 years old, (and has a tag this year incidentally), has been every year since he was 14 except one year during WWII. His son, 54 years old, has been on the opener every year since he was 8. My life choices took me away from the state for several years so I can't hold to that kind of record.

I have been going on the rifle opener every year since i was 8 so i've got a streak of 16 years. which will be broken this year because i drew the buck bull combo and my hunting opportunity ended almost 2 weeks ago with a little buckie. So i won't be up on the normal ridge fighting the orange crush for a deer spot. even though every year it seams like less and less people hunt where we normally do
