Me and my buddy Nibble Nuts went out to Pelican on Friday night and Saturday morning. We tried a small lake close by Sat afternoon and didn't have any luck at all, so we headed over to Pelican and just caught the tail end of the evening bite. I hooked into seven pretty nice size largemouth and a big fat Pelican bluegill. Nibble nuts hooked into two good size bucketmouths. The next morning, it was only 20 degrees outside and not exactly ideal for warm water fishing, so we took it easy for awhile until things warmed up a bit. About 11:30 or so the fish started biting again. Things flipped for us though, and Nibble Nuts started hooking into 'em and I was struggling a bit. We ended up with about 20 fish between the two of us, which for that lake is a bit of a dissapointment. I keep seeing all these posts of the trout fisherman slaying the crap out of their prey, and it makes me miss the summer! I took some nice pics on my cell phone, but Verizon is having technical diffuculties, so I can't retreive them. I'll post them up when I can.
