I don’t think I’ve ever been so soaked on the hunt In my life as I was today. The rain and wind was brutal. Until about 8:30, it was pretty slow. All at once everyone seemed to have had enough and left at the same time. immediately after they had all left, it turned ON. We absolutely hammered them when the rain let up a little and was able to shoot a 4 man in no time.

Nice shoot…look at all those drab birds! I was just thinking about the rain and the surprisingly low success that most seem to have had. I used to think rain was the ticket, but anymore, I think rain AND wind, or even just wind is what gets birds moving. If it’s just rain and no wind, I don’t see much difference in bird movement…and sometimes, it just kills movement.
