Anyone been down through Spanish fork canyon? Any elk moving around or getting down low? As far as all this recent snow has it hit hard down there? Snowmobile or Wheeler for haul outs is the main reason I'm asking. Thanks a lot for any info!!!

Lots of snow. In the Gordon creek area your probably looking at a 1 to 2 feet right now. With more snow on the way I would suggest atvs or sleds. I havent been hunting it so I can't tell you about the elk to much.

Look between 6,000 and 7,000 feet of elevation right now. I have seen two separate herds of about 70 elk at that height in the past couple of weeks in about a foot of snow. HOWEVER, they were not in this unit. Just letting you know what I have seen. Evidence is shown in attached pics.

Ah...your evidence does not support your foot of snow claim. :) Congrats!!

Ah . . ... .details ......... (sigh)

That portion of the hill was south facing on a ridge with 35 mph winds. The slopes that faced different directions had approximately a foot of snow on them. In other words this elk was in a location where the food source was not buried by snow.

Come to think of it providing any more info is probably a waste of time because this cow has nothing to do with the unit referenced here.

Thanks so much and congrats on filling your tag. Hopefully I'll have some success pics before the end of the weekend!
So how did the hunt turn out over the weekend?
