Proc. Question

752 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Duckholla
I was asked a question the other day that I have not been able to find the answer to. I have looked through the proc and cannot find anything regarding this question, or maybe I have just over looked it. Before I go to the DWR I thought I would aske you guys.

My buddy drew a Wasatch LE Archery Elk tag this year, and was unsuccesful. His tag shows the season dates for the standard LE license. His questions was this, since he was unsuccessful on his LE hunt, is he able to hunt on the extended hunt for elk?

It says nothing on his tag concerning the extended hunts. But his dates on his tag are expired.
What do you guys think?

The LE tags are specific in location AND date, his hunt ended September 14th, 2007.

F. Premium Limited Entry and Limited Entry Bull Elk Hunts
R657-5-47

(4) A person who has obtained a premium limited entry or limited entry bull elk permit may not hunt during any other elk hunt or obtain any other elk permit, except as provided in the Antlerless Addendum.

From page 28 of the proclamation.

Also:
(b) A person who has obtained a general archery elk permit may use archery equipment to take:
(i) one elk of hunter’s choice within the Wasatch Front and Uintah Basin
extended archery areas from September 15, 2007–December 15, 2007; or
(ii) one elk of hunter’s choice within the Sanpete Valley extended archery areas from November 17, 2007–December 31, 2007.

His permit isn't a general archery elk permit, it's a Limited Entry permit, therefore he can't hunt the extended archery season.
