Has anyone clear coated bleached out antlers? I've got a few big antlers I want to seal and keep from flaking off and was looking for some tips. I'm not going to stain them, I just want them preserved. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I had a guy tell me several years ago that he would use elmer's glue to fill in the cracks and rough areas.
Then stain it after it dried.
I'm sure either the wood or school type glue would work.

Wood glue won't take stain very well, if at all. You can varnish over it, but it just won't absorb stain.

Very true! if you want proof of this go see the things some of the kids make in high school wood shop. Everywhere they leave glue you can see it very clearly. I know because I was one of those kids that though........ aagghhh, a little glue won't hurt nothin'......
