As turkey season opens soon, just had to put in a quick plug for the Weas.

After reading this thread: http://utahwildlife.net/forum/15-upland-game/41091-shameless-plug-weasel-brand-game-calls.html, I went out and bought one. Highly recommended to you all based on two reasons.

First, the calls bring in the birds. A friend also ordered a call from him, slate on slate. Deep into the general season after the toms had henned up and mostly quieted down in our area, used it to call in a tom for him that really got hot after a few purrs and cutts from his slate on slate call. The tom didn't really like any of the other calls I attempted to use. It was cautious and didn't want to move through some pines, but the call kept him more than interested long enough for my buddy to get a ninja stalk in to seal the deal.

You can probably stop reading here if you're busy because that's all you really need to know, his calls bring in the birds.

Second, I broke the crystal on crystal call that I had bought (long story but my fault) and after sending it back with a little cash (probably not enough) and an admission of fault, the call came back with a few more strikers and an EXTRA CALL!!! Dave must have been feeling sorry for me or something, but I was just happy to get the crystal call back!! He's great to do business with. It's almost time to try and put them to good use...

Walt is right. We ended up crossing three ridges going after that tom. Once we got in position, the call worked great and Walt did an excellent job calling.

The Weasel Brand slate call

The bird, a nice Rio.
