I recently relocated from west edge of salt lake county to summit county and I'm struggling to find good areas to shoot at 200 to 1000 yards for sight in and practice. Before I'd hop in the car and 25 mins later be in the desert west of Grantsville where you can shoot for miles. Anyone have any tips for areas anywhere along i80 or hwy 40? Parleys/pmaa would have been ideal but ce la vie.

There's the Echo gun range on Echo Canyon road. It was closed earlier due to fire concerns, but I imagine it's probably open again by now. Park City has a gun club, but it's pricey.

yeah that's what i was afraid of, having to go east of echo before evanston somewhere, as ive seen lots of pull offs there that looked remote, i guess ill have to scout a bunch of them.

The PMAA range by Mountain Dell Golf Course off I-80 may be an option too. They are currently closed (not sure why but it is temporary). I dont recall what distances they offer though.
