I caught a bunch of small fish recently, something I've come to love a lot more in the past few months. It's because I'm not a good enough fisherman to catch big ones all the time!

And, I got into hopper action! First fish on hoppers for the year, which was exciting. Some pictures and a quick report on the blog http://fishonthebrain.blogspot.com/2015/08/small-fish-and-hoppers.html

Any of y'all got into hoppers yet this year? It's hard to choose which I love more - hoppers or the brown trout spawn. They're both so magical.

I had luck with some hopper flies earlier in the year. But I've had a string of poor luck with anything I have ever since I caught that duck on accident. The trout have actually been biting off the legs to my flies.

I hate ducks when I'm trying to fish. They do such a good job of getting in the way!

I had some cutts do that to me last time I was chucking hoppers. It gets annoying real quick.
