Went out the day after Christmas, just me and my son. We rolled up to our slough at 6am with the truck reading a balmy 1 degree. Took my beanie off after the work out of setting up and my hair froze almost instantly, then it hit me.. This is going to be a cold hunt haha. It wound up being a little slower than we thought it would be. There had been 50 plus birds in it the days before. We had a couple doubles drop in and the flocks that like clock work always seem to drop in while taking a leak and when picking up. Can't complain as this slough is usually tougher when it's a sunny day like it was as we have no cover or ditches to hide in. The shadows of the blinds can only be somewhat hidden with the decoys. It is always a fun day getting out with my son and are days I will always remember.
