Is there a new access road to the south end, I was disapointed to see the road closed sign
south end of farmington bay

You can still get there during the legacy highway construction.
Follow the road signs that say Dump/Pond it crosses the new highway
at the bend in porter lane and 1100 west. Head towards the pond and you will
see the old road on the north of the canal. I think but not sure the access
after the highway is done will be from 5th south in bountiful on the new frontage
road to the dumps...
