Soldier Creek area was pushing a foot of ice everywhere I drilled as of the 26th

Fished there yesterday. 12+ inches of hard, clear ice. Edges were fine. No slush. I had to clean ice from holes most of the day. Atv's and sleds scurrying about all day long.

came home with a sunburn

14 inches of solid ice. Sunny, no wind beautiful day. Fishing? Not quite so good. Two fish from 10-2. 10-2??? - sounds like we were lazy fishermen! Looking for the Aloe gel.

If its anywhere near to historical times, its going to be into May.

I remember years ago when there was a actual fishing season that started the first weekend in June that there were bets going on just about every year on weather or not Strawberry would be ice free or not on the opening.

There were a few openings that you wondered if it was water or ice under the boat.
