Folks are killing them right now. In a couple weeks it's going to slow down unless you have a way to get to a place far away from the crowds!

7 inches of hard, clear ice today with some variable slush on top. Snowmobiles and ATV's were safely on the lake.

About 10 inches of ice but slush is pretty widespread and a significant problem. Long walking jaunts on the ice is a challenge due to shush and snow accumulation. (1-15)

12-14 inches of hard, clear ice. Not much slush. Some fresh snow on the ice however.

Usually ice off is 2nd to 4th week in May. It has been creeping earlier a little bit, but we are still about 2 months out.

The thin edges thing is more from lakes starting to fill and the level rising, which floats the ice up but leaves a gap between shore. People mistakenly think its melting back early on. Once the shore melts off and there is reflective heat, then you really get accelerated melt going.

Anyone roll past Strawberry lately? Wondering what the ice looks like, we should be soon to ice off. Also wondering about nearby lakes like Starvation, Currant Creek etc.

I have a bunch of mandatory covid19 vacation to burn by june.

Strawberry has been fishable for weeks. Ice has been completely gone for a bit.

I hit the marina side on Monday. Lines in the water by 6:30am and caught 1 Koke and lost it at the boat. Fished till 1pm. I’ll be headed to Soldier Creek side on Saturday like I should’ve done to begin with

Wasn't trying to be cute. Just didn't know if you were being facetious or not. It fished REALLY well for 3 weeks. Last Saturday you could tell turnover was beginning, but we still did well.
