A friend of mine drove by Wednesday on his way back from Vernal and said that the edges had ice but most of the lake was open.

Mud Creek is usually the 1st to freeze. I would think you should start seeing some safe ice there by 12/10 or so. Last year there were a few people on by that time.
Can't wait to get up there.

I tubed Mud Creek nine days ago (11/21) and it was ice-free. Water temp at midday was 41, and increased to 43 as I kicked toward the main lake. The fishing was great; the catching was not so great.

I saw duck boats on the water at Strawberry today. A pontoon also was able to launch at the ladders.

There were sheets of ice floating around in the morning, but most were gone by the afternoon.
